Sky has confirmed the result of its European media planning and buying agency review, run by The Aperto Partnership.
Taking the business from incumbent EssenceMediacom, Publicis Media has officially been appointed by the broadcaster as its media planning and buying agency in the UK, Ireland and DACH (Germany, Austria and Switzerland).
Sky’s media in the Italian market was also up for review and has been retained by incumbent WPP.
The account encompasses media for Sky, Sky Broadband, Sky Sports, The Cloud, Sky AdSmart and Now TV.
According to COMvergence data, the net media spend for Sky across all regions was $443.2m (£341m) in 2024. The UK is estimated to be worth £250m per year.
Speaking to Campaign, a Sky spokesperson said: “Following a competitive tender process, Publicis has been appointed as our media planning and buying agency in the UK, Ireland and DACH, and WPP has been retained as our agency in Italy. We look forward to working with these teams across our European media account.”
